Dressing the walls of a children's bedroom with kids' wall stickers transforms the space in minutes, with no building work or painting. Our selection covers every theme — animals, unicorns, dinosaurs, forest, space — so you can create decor that grows with your child. Repositionable and suitable for little ones, these wall decals are a simple way to personalise a nursery, a boy's bedroom or a girl's bedroom.

Our selection of wall stickers for children's bedrooms

To help you find the right design quickly, our catalogue is organised around three main criteria: theme, gender and age. Each range meets a specific need, from a calming tree wall sticker for a baby to graphic decor for a teenager's room.

By theme (animals, forest, space, unicorns…)

The theme you choose sets the whole mood of the room. Here are the most popular themes and the atmosphere they create:

  • Safari animals: giraffes, lions, elephants — perfect for a fun, colourful look, usually between 60 and 120 cm tall
  • Forest and trees: a tree wall sticker often reaches 180–220 cm, ideal above a bed or a chest of drawers
  • Space and the solar system: planets, rockets and glow-in-the-dark stars that shine for up to 30 minutes after the lights go out
  • Unicorns and rainbows: a fairy-tale theme loved by 4 to 10-year-olds, with unicorn wall stickers in pastel colours
  • Dinosaurs: T-Rex, diplodocus and triceratops, hugely popular with 3 to 8-year-olds and available in our range of dinosaur wall stickers
  • Woodland animals: foxes, owls and hedgehogs in soft shades, perfect for nurseries

By gender (girl / boy / unisex)

Sorting by gender is still a handy guide, even though there's nothing to stop you mixing themes. Here are the most popular designs in each category:

Theme Signature designs Main palette
Girl Unicorns, flowers, butterflies, ballerinas Pink, mauve, gold
Boy Dinosaurs, cars, rockets, superheroes Blue, green, grey
Unisex Animals, trees, hot-air balloons, stars Beige, white, terracotta, sage green

Unisex designs make up a growing share of purchases: they work just as well for siblings sharing a room as for decor your child won't tire of as they grow up.

By age (baby / child / teen)

Your child's age changes everything: the designs, the sizes and how high you place them. Here are the main guidelines:

  • 0–3 years (baby): soft, soothing designs — clouds, stars, stylised animals. Place them high up (above 1.40 m) so they stay out of reach
  • 3–7 years (child): colourful designs that tell a story — unicorns, dinosaurs, cars. Place them at a child's eye level, between 80 cm and 1.20 m from the floor
  • 7–12 years (tween): bolder themed decor — space, sport, cityscapes. Your child can help choose and apply them
  • 12 and over (teen): quotes, graphic designs, landscapes. Often a larger size and a cleaner style

Why choose our wall stickers for a children's bedroom?

Beyond looking good, a kids' wall sticker has to meet three requirements: it mustn't damage the wall, it must be safe for your child, and it should be easy to apply. Our selection has been built around these three pillars.

Repositionable and residue-free

Our repositionable wall stickers use an adhesive that grips the wall without bonding permanently. In practice, you can peel them off and reposition them several times — usually 3 to 5 times, depending on the surface. When you finally remove them, they leave no glue marks and don't pull off any paint, provided the paint is in good condition and has been dry for at least 3 weeks.

Safe for children (non-toxic materials)

Safety comes first in a child's bedroom. Here are the features to check on every wall sticker:

Criterion Standard or benchmark
Inks Water-based, solvent-free inks
Phthalates Phthalate-free (REACH standard)
VOCs (volatile organic compounds) Low emissions, A or A+ rating
Format Pre-cut, with no small detachable parts for under-36-months

For a child under 3, always place the sticker more than 1.40 m from the floor so they can't try to pull it off and put it in their mouth.

Easy to apply in minutes

A standard 60 x 90 cm wall sticker takes 10 to 15 minutes to apply on your own, and under 8 minutes with two people. You don't need any special tools, just a squeegee or a stiff card to push out air bubbles. Large stickers (180 cm and over) take 25 to 35 minutes on average, plus a second pair of hands to line everything up properly.

How do you apply a wall sticker in a children's bedroom?

80% of a successful application comes down to preparing the wall. Here are the steps to follow, in order:

  • Prepare the wall: clean it with a damp cloth and leave it to dry for at least 30 minutes. The surface must be smooth, clean and dry
  • Check the surface: the stickers hold on matt, satin or semi-gloss paint. On gloss paint, textured wallpaper or render, adhesion is noticeably weaker
  • Do a dry run: hold the sticker against the wall without peeling it to check the position and height. Make 2 pencil marks
  • Peel off the backing: slowly remove the backing paper, starting from one corner, at an angle of about 30°
  • Apply from the centre outwards: use a soft squeegee to push out air bubbles with criss-cross strokes
  • Remove the top transfer tape: peel it back gently, flat against the wall, never straight out from it
  • Smooth it down one last time by hand to fix the edges in place for good

The ideal temperature for application is between 18 and 25 °C. Avoid cold or very damp rooms — below 15 °C the adhesive doesn't stick well, and above 28 °C it becomes too soft.

Our catalogue also covers other complementary themes: animal wall stickers for nature lovers, and rainbow wall stickers to add colour without overdoing it.

Frequently asked questions about kids' and nursery wall stickers

Do wall stickers damage walls?

No, as long as the paint is in good condition and has been dry for at least 4 weeks. On a weakened or freshly painted wall, some paint may come away when the sticker is removed.

What size should I choose for a kids' room?

For a wall 2.40 m high, allow a sticker of 60 to 120 cm for a visible effect without overcrowding the space. Above a bed, a size of 90 to 180 cm wide works particularly well.

Can they be repositioned?

Yes, during the initial application: the sticker can be peeled off and repositioned once or twice before the final smoothing. Always handle it by the corners to protect the adhesive. Once applied and smoothed down, it can no longer be repositioned.
