Rainbow wall stickers: bring your walls to life

Looking for rainbow wall stickers to transform a kids' room, a boho space or an accent wall? Our selection brings together classic, pastel, giant and customisable designs, made to suit every decor style. Each sticker is removable, repositionable and designed to go up in minutes without damaging the surface.

Our rainbow stickers for kids' rooms

The kids' room is still the number one place for a rainbow sticker. The motif is universal and gentle, and it dresses a wall in 10 to 15 minutes with no paint and no holes. Here are the three families you'll find in this collection.

Classic, colourful rainbows

A 6- or 7-colour rainbow is still the safe bet for a child aged 2 to 8. Saturated tones (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) catch the eye and work especially well on a wall painted white or light grey. The most popular sizes are between 60 and 90 cm wide, enough to fill a wall without overwhelming it.

Pastel and boho rainbows

The pastel versions keep the same shape in softer shades — dusty pink, beige, light terracotta, sage green, sky blue. This range fits into boho or Scandinavian decor and appeals to parents who want a childlike motif that doesn't clash with the rest of the home. Expect 4 to 6 colours on average on these designs.

Rainbows and unicorns

The rainbow + unicorn combination is still a big classic for girls' bedrooms between the ages of 4 and 10. These designs usually pair a central rainbow with one or more unicorns, plus stars or clouds as extra elements, all on a single sheet you can arrange however you like.

Giant and XXL rainbow stickers

When the rainbow becomes the centrepiece of a room, size changes everything. Here's how to choose between a giant format and a customisable XXL format.

Format Approximate width Recommended use Average application time
Standard 60 to 90 cm Accent wall, headboard 10 to 15 min
Giant 120 to 150 cm A whole wall 20 to 30 min
Customisable XXL Up to 200 cm Playroom, statement wall 30 to 45 min with two people

Giant format for a whole wall

A giant 120 to 150 cm rainbow becomes the focal point of the room. It's ideal on a clear wall at least 2 metres wide, behind a bed, a sofa or a reading nook. At this size, plan on two people for the application to avoid creases and air bubbles.

Customisable XXL format

The XXL format lets you choose the exact width (often up to 200 cm) and sometimes the colour palette. It's the one to go for in a playroom, a photo studio or on a teenager's bedroom wall, wherever you want a bold graphic effect. Measure your wall before ordering so you keep a margin of at least 30 cm on each side of the sticker.

Rainbow stickers by decor style

Rainbows are no longer just for kids' rooms. Depending on the palette, they suit very different decor styles. Three main families lead the way right now:

  • Terracotta and warm tones — a palette of 4 to 5 colours built around brick, beige, ochre and dusty pink, perfect for a boho living room or a natural-style main bedroom. This look pairs beautifully with an arch wall sticker or a light wood wall.
  • Watercolour and pastel — a watercolour effect with soft, blurred gradients and 5 to 7 gentle shades, ideal for a baby's bedroom or nursery where you want a calming atmosphere.
  • Minimalist — a rainbow in fine lines, sometimes monochrome or two-tone, that works in a home office, a hallway or a Scandinavian living room where the motif needs to stay subtle.

Terracotta and warm tones

The terracotta palette has taken hold in grown-up interiors since 2020. It swaps bright colours for deeper, warmer tones, which makes a rainbow sticker work in a main bedroom or a living room. These designs usually have 4 to 5 bands instead of 7.

Watercolour and pastel

The watercolour effect mimics the soft transitions of watercolour paint. The edges are deliberately irregular, giving an organic look that feels less childlike than the classic rainbow. This style works especially well in a nursery or a baby's bedroom, from 0 to 3 years.

Minimalist

The minimalist style pares the rainbow back to its most essential form: 3 to 5 fine lines, often in tones of black, beige or terracotta. Sizes are more modest (30 to 50 cm) and the sticker blends into an uncluttered decor without dominating the space.

Why choose our rainbow wall decals

Beyond the design itself, three technical criteria set a good rainbow wall sticker apart from a disappointing one.

Criterion Our standard Real benefit
Material Matt vinyl with no harmful PVC No smell, safe in a kids' room
Adhesive Repositionable Removal with no marks or glue residue
Lifespan 5 to 7 years indoors Stable colours, no yellowing
Finish Anti-glare matt Looks like paint, not plastic

Removable, residue-free material

The vinyl used for our stickers is designed to hold firmly while it's up and come away cleanly when you take it down. Unlike permanent adhesives, it leaves no glue marks on paint, provided the wall is dry and clean when you apply it. This matters for renters and for kids' rooms that change quickly.

Easy to apply, removes without a trace

Most designs go up in under 20 minutes for a standard size. The sticker comes on a pre-cut sheet that you transfer onto the wall with a squeegee or a rigid card. When removing it, pull gently at 45 degrees to protect the paint underneath.

Production and composition

Our stickers are printed with eco-friendly water-based inks, with no harsh solvents. The material is phthalate-free and complies with European standards for use in children's bedrooms. We apply the same material traceability across our other collections, including our kids' & nursery wall stickers.

How to apply a rainbow wall sticker

Applying a rainbow sticker doesn't call for any professional tools. Here's the method that works in 95% of cases, whatever the size.

Preparing your wall

  • Check that the wall is clean, dry and smooth — a wipe with a microfibre cloth is enough in most cases.
  • Wait at least 3 to 4 weeks after fresh paint before applying a sticker, so the paint has time to fully harden.
  • Avoid textured walls, render and embossed wallpaper: the adhesive won't make full contact and the sticker will peel off within a few days.
  • Leave the sticker in its sleeve at room temperature for 24 hours before applying it, especially in winter.

Step-by-step application

  • Mark the position on the wall in pencil — a spirit level is recommended for sizes over 60 cm.
  • Carefully peel off the transfer film, with the design stuck to it, from the backing paper.
  • Apply the sticker to the wall starting from the centre, then smooth outwards with a squeegee to push out air bubbles.
  • Remove the transfer film slowly, at 45 degrees, holding the sticker flat against the wall with your other hand.
  • Run the squeegee over the whole design one last time to set the adhesive for good.

Care tips

A wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth is all it takes to dust the sticker. Avoid abrasive sponges, alcohol-based products and glass cleaners, which can dull the print. With these precautions, the colours stay true for 5 to 7 years indoors, out of direct sunlight.

Rainbow stickers and complementary decor themes

A rainbow pairs beautifully with other wall motifs to create a cohesive scene rather than a stand-alone element. Three combinations work especially well:

  • With a plant motif — the rainbow brings the colour, the greenery brings the texture. This pairing suits a calm bedroom or a reading nook, and the designs in our nature wall stickers collection are a particularly good match.
  • With a stylised tree — a classic combination in kids' rooms, where the rainbow sits above a tree wall sticker to create a complete landscape over 2 to 3 m².
  • With stars or clouds — small extra elements of 5 to 15 cm that extend the rainbow across the rest of the wall without overloading the composition.

Frequently asked questions about rainbow stickers

What size should I choose for a kids' room?

For a standard 9 to 12 m² bedroom, a size of 60 to 90 cm wide is plenty. For rooms over 12 m², go for an extra-large size of at least 120 cm.

Are rainbow stickers reusable?

Our stickers can be repositioned while you apply them but can't be reused once fully removed. The adhesive loses its properties once the sticker has been completely peeled off the wall.
